CLI-551GY or CLI-551GYXL: which capacity?
The 6512B001 (780 pages) suits occasional or moderate use. For higher volumes, the 6447B001 (3,350 pages) costs less per page and is replaced less often; both fit the same printers. The 6443B008 pack lowers the unit cost further.

Installation
Replace with the printer on: open the cartridge door, remove the empty cartridge, unpack the new one, remove the protection without touching contacts or nozzles, insert until it clicks and close. The printer detects the cartridge and runs an alignment if needed.
Use and tips
The 6512B001 suits regular office use: the cartridge (780 pages) lasts about 8 months at 100 pages per month and about 3 months at 300 pages per month. Beyond that, the 6447B001 costs less per page.
Keep the printer plugged in and on: it maintains its nozzles and uses very little power in standby; print a color page regularly. Store cartridges in their packaging away from heat and install them before the printed date. Genuine cartridges protect the print head and the warranty.
