Why choose the genuine Brother LC-229XLVALBP ink pack
The LC-229XLVALBP bundles the four high yield cartridges of the LC-229XL/LC-225XL range: the LC-229XLBK black and the three LC-225XL colors. Genuine Brother ink, formulated for the print head of these models: faithful colors, fast drying, no clogged nozzles, and cartridges recognized by the printer (levels shown). The black is a pigment ink, for sharp, water-resistant text.
What is in the pack
Four cartridges: LC-229XLBK black (2,400 pages) and LC-225XLC, LC-225XLM, LC-225XLY (1,200 pages each). The black yields twice the colors, matching typical office use (mostly black text). All four references are also sold individually, to order as each one wears out.

2,400 pages for the black and 1,200 pages per color, per ISO/IEC 24711 (5% coverage, letter-type documents). Photos and solid fills use more; part of the ink is used by the automatic print head cleanings.
Installation
Replace with the printer on: open the cartridge cover, remove the empty cartridge, unpack the new one, remove the protection without touching the contacts, insert it into its color slot until it clicks and close. The printer detects each cartridge and shows its level.
Use and tips
The pack suits regular office use: all four colors are replaced at once, at a lower cost per page than cartridges bought separately, with a reserve so you never run out at the wrong moment.
Keep the printer plugged in and on: it maintains its nozzles and uses very little power in standby; print a color page regularly. Store cartridges in their packaging away from heat and install them before the printed date. Genuine cartridges protect the print head and the warranty.
