Why choose the genuine Brother BRS-1D300-060 ribbon
The BRS-1D300-060 is a genuine Brother standard resin ribbon. Resin ink melts at higher energy and forms a print that is highly resistant to abrasion, solvents, chemicals and temperature swings: equipment labeling, laboratories, chemicals, outdoors, chilled packaging. It is used on synthetic films (polyester, polypropylene, polyimide) and on quality coated paper. The standard version covers everyday needs at the best price; the premium version exists for demanding media. Genuine Brother ribbon certified for TD and TJ printheads: even ink layer, crease-free unwinding, antistatic backcoat that protects the head.
Wax, wax-resin or resin: which ribbon?
Wax for everyday paper labels at the lowest price, wax-resin for labels that will be handled or exposed to moisture, resin for synthetic media and harsh environments. Premium when density, speed or smudge resistance matter. All compositions come in 60 mm x 300 m: BWP-1D300-060 (wax premium), BWS-1D300-060 (wax standard), BSP-1D300-060 (wax-resin premium), BSS-1D300-060 (wax-resin standard), BRP-1D300-060 (resin premium), BRS-1D300-060 (resin standard). The ribbon must be at least as wide as the media; pick the width just above your labels to limit waste.
Printers compatible with the BRS-1D300-060
The BRS-1D300-060 (60 mm x 300 m) is intended for 6 Brother models (manufacturer list):
300 m rolls are for TD-4T desktop printers, 450 m and 600 m rolls for 4-inch TJ industrial printers, 154 mm rolls for 6-inch TJ printers. Check the exact reference of your printer, suffix included.
Length and yield
300 m of ribbon per roll, 12 rolls per box, 3600 m in total. In thermal transfer the ribbon advances with the media: one roll covers about 300 m of labels whatever the print coverage, for example about 4,054 labels 74 mm high or 2,000 labels of 150 mm (excluding gaps and ribbon-save mode depending on the model).
Installation
Open the cover, place the BRS-1D300-060 roll on the supply spindle and an empty core on the take-up spindle, route the ribbon under the printhead as shown in the printer guide (winding direction printed on the box), tension the ribbon and close. The printer recalibrates the media and detects the ribbon on the first job. Clean the printhead with isopropyl alcohol at every roll change and keep the ribbon in its box, away from dust and heat.
Usage and advice
The BRS-1D300-060 suits labels that must stay legible for years: equipment identification, rating plates, laboratories and chemicals, cold chain, outdoors. On polyester or polypropylene film the print resists solvents, abrasion and extreme temperatures; set a higher print energy and a moderate speed in the driver.
Tips: store the boxes flat, between 5 and 35 °C, away from sunlight and dust, and use the rolls within a year. Match head temperature and speed to the ribbon + media pair (a wax ribbon prints faster and cooler than a resin ribbon); a pale or rubbing-off print points to a setting that is too low or unsuitable media, a dirty head or a creased ribbon. The box of 12 rolls covers several months of sustained printing; order the same ribbon for all printers on a line to unify the settings.

Frequently asked questions
Is the BRS-1D300-060 compatible with my Brother printer?
Yes if it is in the list above (TD-4420TN to TD-4750TNWBR). If in doubt, compare the exact reference of your printer, suffix included.
What is the difference between wax, wax-resin and resin?
Wax is the cheapest and suits paper; wax-resin resists rubbing and moisture better; resin gives a near-indelible print on synthetic films, for chemical, outdoor or chilled environments.
Which labels should I use with the BRS-1D300-060?
Synthetic films (polyester, polypropylene) or quality coated paper; unnecessary on plain paper, where a wax ribbon is enough.
How many rolls does the reference contain?
The box contains 12 rolls of 60 mm x 300 m; the price shown is for the box.
Where can I find the safety data sheet (SDS) for the BRS-1D300-060?
