Why choose the genuine HP 201X toner cartridge
The CF400X is the high yield black cartridge of the HP 201 series. All-in-one cartridge: toner, imaging drum and developer are replaced together, so print quality is like new at every change, with no separate drum to replace. Genuine HP toner with JetIntelligence: smart level tracking, anti-fraud technology and maximized yield.
201X or 201A: which capacity?
The CF400X is the high yield version (2,800 pages) of the CF400A (1,420 pages): same cartridge, same printers, more toner. Above about a hundred pages a month it is the most economical choice per page. The CF400XD pack (2 cartridges) lowers the unit cost further.
Printers compatible with the CF400X
The CF400X is compatible with 2 HP models (manufacturer list):
- HP Color LaserJet Pro M274n (M6D61A)
- HP Color LaserJet Pro M252n (B4A21A)
Check the exact reference of your printer (label at the back or Information menu); suffixes (dn, dw, fdw, n) are variants of the same series and use the same consumables.
Page yield
2,800 pages per ISO/IEC 19752 (5% coverage, letter-type documents). Graphics or photo-heavy pages reduce the actual yield. The cost per page shown next to the price is calculated from the current price and this yield.
Installation and maintenance
Tool-free replacement: open the cover, remove the used cartridge, take the new one out of its bag, rock it gently to distribute the toner, pull the protective tab if present, then insert until it clicks. The printer recognizes the cartridge and resets the counter. Used HP cartridges are returned free of charge through HP Planet Partners.
Use and tips
The CF400X suits regular office use: the cartridge (2,800 pages) lasts about 9 months at 300 pages per month and about 3 months at 1,000 pages per month.
Store the cartridge in its packaging, flat, away from light and humidity, and unpack it only when installing. At the "Low" alert, order: the printer keeps printing until "Very low" then "Replace". The driver's EconoMode extends life for drafts. Genuine cartridges preserve the printer's HP warranty.
